Mystery Quest Adventures is a company that provides experiences for groups of any size looking for a new way to explore their own city, or for a way to get to know somewhere new. We offer pre-planned activities such as Location Chases, Discovery Walks, scavenger trails and team building games suitable for individuals or groups, for tourists, locals, couples, companies or kids. You can even take the dog!

How does it work?

Our experiences use your smart phone to help you get around. Whether you favour an Android or Apple device, we use a series of carefully crafted questions and a well-established app to help you decipher our clues and point you on to the next location. All of our games involve a set of three unique and seemingly random words which point to a 3x3 meter square somewhere in the world. You will be given a start point then the game will play out from there, with your phone directing you to the next location.

We are a small, family run business and we are passionate about getting people outdoors and enjoying time together. We know that the world is ever changing and technology is a big part of that world. as a family, we came up with a way to combine the outdoors with technology - and here it is, Mystery Quest Adventures!

We have 3 lively, outdoor boys who have been very involved in the development of the games and they have rigorously tested the games with us - and given them the seal of approval! What more could we ask?

We want anyone and everyone to be able to enjoy exploring the cities that we have chosen for our games, and love to help build friendships and teamwork in a fun atmosphere.

Game Specific Questions

These games are all designed to get you out and about in the areas relevant to them. They use your phone and an app called What3Words to help you navigate your way around. Each game uses it differently and each location has unique questions. Correct answers point you in the right direction. Wrong answers could lead to disaster!

The great thing about these games is that you can enjoy them either on your own or with other people. Each game can be played on your own, with a small group or people or in teams competing against each other. Enjoy as a couple, as a work team event, get your youth or church group together for a team building exercise or see who's team can get to the end the fastest. Play as a way to find out more about a new city, or further explore the city you already live in.

More details on how best to enjoy each game is provided upon purchase of any game type.

All of our games revolve around the use of a smart phone which has GPS capability. For some games you will also need a camera (smart phone camera would be ideal). You may also find it handy to have a notepad app on your phone or a physical notepad and pen to jot down any answers that you get. A mobile battery charger will also keep your phone going, make sure you make it to the end!

All of our games involve being outside in the elements. You are advised to dress appropriately for the weather and do not take any risks when playing.

Full guidance will be provided upon a successful purchase, detailing what steps you can take to make this a completely offline experience. The technology we use can all be managed without an internet connection once it is setup. You can also print out the hunts and any maps and guides that are provided, if you so wish.

You will still need to use a mobile device with GPS capability to manage the navigation as this relies on the What3Words service, but this can be managed offline as well.
